It about time to see RESULTS

At this year's American Rental Association show back in February, Jessie Minvielle and I attended a massive number of software demonstrations with every software developer at the show. The products we saw ranged from very simple "mom & pop" rental company products to those used by our national competitors including Hertz, United and RSC. Very soon, we realized that there is no one program out that that does everything - so we began a lengthy discussion of the "pros" and "cons" for each offering.

After agonizing over the many possibilities, all department heads collectively chose to go with a program based out of the UK. The software development company "Result Group" has developed their product called "Rental Result" which is the platform we ultimately chose. In 1994, when High River Rentals began using Systematic, we were likely utilizing 10% of the product's possible offerings. Today, we are pushing the system to its limit. Once our conversion is complete, we will be utilizing Rental Result at about 10% of its offering and can obviously grow in our pursuit of greater customer service, fleet utilization and profitability.

We will be going "live" with this product on November 1st, 2008. A lot of preparation is ongoing at this time. If you have not been asked to assist yet - just wait. Everyone will likely be seeing changes in the way they do their daily tasks - training and guidance is soon to be announced. With these type of massive conversions, we will be relying on each and every one of you to help us smooth the transition. A massive amount of money and time is being invested into this change and we fully expect it to be a bumpy ride. The end result, however, is what the pain is all about.
